An upright dark purple-green to purplish black foliaged plant bearing clusters of purple flowers on terminal spikes in summer. An excellent container plant tolerant of indoor conditions and subtropical environments, as well as being an excellent outdoor garden and container plant when protected from frosts. Prefers a well drained site, and will benefit from an annual application of fertiliser. Tolerant of dry conditions once established.
